Social exclusion in Ecuador, A regional perspective
Abstract:
The objective of the research was to measure social exclusion in Ecuador at a national and regional level, using indicators of quality of life, immersed in three dimensions: housing, work and economy. To this end, an index of social exclusion is constructed by applying the technique of fuzzy sets and using data from the Living Conditions Survey 2005-2006 and 2013-2014. The main results show that the Ecuadorian provinces with the least social exclusion are: Galápagos and Pichincha, while the highest exclusion occurs in Orellana and Morona Santiago.
