Social media in the XXI society


Abstract:

The restructuring of capitalism after the 2008 crisis along with four decades of globalization have resulted in greater power for international corporations and digital monopolies, resulting in capitalism in the digital age. The technological revolutions coupled with the capitalist system have caused the massive and ubiquitous presence of communication technologies in our daily lives, displacing the axes of Fordist capitalist accumulation. The dynamics of capital accumulation require less of the intensity of capital and are based more on financialization and information. However, how leisure and fun can be profitable in the economic? What is the role played by social platforms in the global economy?
