Social responsibility in the hotel sector. Analysis of case in Cordoba (Argentina)
Abstract:
This article analyzes the degree of implementation of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the hospitality industry as a strategy to help promote sustainable tourism development processes. For this purpose, first, describes, according to a literature review, the state of the art about the level of application of the corporate social responsibility in this industry. Later, from a structured questionnaire, we analyze the case of the city of Cordoba (Argentina), in order to demonstrate the hypothesis of differences, by category and by size in the application of CSR. We conclude that, despite environmental awareness and knowledge that exists of this concept, yet not reached a comprehensive way to apply it. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce certain measures, like information and training on these issues. Also it shows how there are significant differences in the application of CSR by categories and dimensions of sustainability.
