Sociodemographic analysis of adult female transgender people in Manta

Abstract:

This work aimed to analyze the sociodemographic conditions of adult female transgender people in the city of Manta province of Manabí, Ecuador, at the individual, family, social, political and contextual level. The research employed a mixed-character design that was qualitative – quantitative, descriptive and interpretative. Intentional non-probabilistic sampling was performed, selecting 44 people. A questionnaire and 3 workshops were applied with focus groups. The results mostly place people between the age of 40 and 44; with an unstable relationship, with an educational level, mostly with incomplete primary, adding all being mocked, marginalized, rejected, censored and discriminated against.
