Software Architecture for IoT-Based Solutions
Abstract:
Multiple specific solutions reinventing the wheel on how to integrate the IoT technology characterise the actual scenario of Industry 4.0. This paper proposes a software architecture for integrating IoT-based solutions in a generic scenario. Our main contribution is the definition of formal processes for capturing, processing and presenting data to the user. The proposed architecture was evaluated in the construction of a system for controlling access to a parking lot in Universidad Nacional de Educación. The experimental evaluation of the architecture shows that the design of a solution based on the proposed architecture increases the extensibility of the IoT solution and increases the easiness to integrate the solution with a legacy system. As a result, an open source, easy to extend software architecture is presented.
