Software libre matemático y su incidencia en el aprendizaje del cálculo diferencial

Abstract:

The research addresses the problem of students’ failure in the subject of differential calculus; computer applications are developed using free mathematical software as teaching strategies for the teaching-learning process of mathematics, the research hypothesis consists of verifying the incidence of the use of computer applications in academic performance, correlates methods, techniques and strategies of the institutional educational model with the learning style of each student. The research is of quasi-experimental type, we work with a control group and an experimental group, in the experimental group the CHAEA questionnaire is applied, to identify the learning styles, obtaining 17% Assets, 24% Theoretical, 26% Pragmatic and 33% Reflective; The tests implemented were analyzed using the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, obtaining 76.92% of the pretest reliability, 82.36% for the test and 83.6% for the posttest. The analysis of the results is descriptive, the techniques of comparison between groups are used, in the chi-square test we have F_critical= 1.97< F_calculated= 3.28; with a value of p= 0.6108> 0.05 level of significance for the test, verifying that in educational processes if the use of applications that allow modeling and simulation.
