Spatial and temporal variability performance of the water delivery in irrigation schemes
Abstract:
The primary objective of this study was to develop a procedure for assessing the performance of spatial and temporal variability of water delivery in irrigation systems. The approach generates a set of indicators to be used at various evaluation levels composed of relevant spatial and temporal elements. Application of the method is illustrated by analyzing the performance of the Doroodzan Irrigation System in Iran. The study depicts that, not only is spatial and temporal variability needed to assess the water delivery system, but also that uniformity of the variability should be considered. With this approach, it is possible to achieve this, and also to analyze the parameters adequacy, reliability, and equity in water delivery systems.
