Spectroscopic binaries in the open cluster trumpler 16

Abstract:

We have measured radial velocities for 26 probable members of the open cluster Trumpler 16. We have found a minimum of 50% of variables in the considered sample. We have succeeded in deriving six preliminary orbits for binaries among the probable main-sequence members found an average heliocentric radial velocity for the cluster of -26 km s-1. All the binaries discovered are worth detailed studies because of their potential astrophysical interest.
