Standalone photovoltaic system, using a single stage boost DC/AC power inverter controlled by a double loop control
Abstract:
This paper contains the findings regarding the evaluation of a standalone photovoltaic, where the photovoltaic voltage is inverted through a single stage boost DC/AC inverter, which is controlled by a double loop control. This document shows the results of the evaluation of reliability, efficiency and technical performance of the system in normal and specific operation. Meanwhile, the control used filters and compensation in order to avoid high currents and voltages in situations like the temporary short circuit, non-linear loads, abrupt load variations, and input disturbance; this method allows the continuous operation of the system, avoiding the protection actions. The obtained results of the evaluation reflect efficiency greater than 62%, the percentage of total harmonics distortion is maximum 1.845%, and the maximum RMS output voltage error is 4%. As a result, the overall system achieves a very highly reliable performance compared with the typical scheme.
