Abstract:

AutoChemic 990 is a paste compound which is claimed to give high strength, corrosion resistant joints on virtually all types of aluminium and aluminium alloys, and requires no hishing or after treatment. No filler alloy is needed and the compound is merely painted on where required. By indirectly heating the joint a series of chain-type reactions take place terminating in metallic reduction at the reaction temperature of 400" c. 990 is recommended by the manufacturers for all fine work such as Wire and cable jointing, instrument parts, small wave guides, floats etc.
