Strategy for IP traffic support with QoS in OBS networks

Abstract:

This paper presents a new strategy for burst reservation in OBS networks for the transport of IP/DiffServ traffics with Quality of Service (QoS) constraints using MPLS. The current resource reservation protocols research in OBS offer several algorithms for burst transmission, some of them taking into account QoS parameters. In this paper, these solutions will be shown according to the needs of IP/DiffServ/MPLS traffic. The main features of each strategy will be discussed and an enhanced algorithm proposed. © 2008 IEEE.
