Abstract:

Introduction: Achieving higher education excellence in the demand of the learning process subjected to dynamic changes, based on the adequacy of learning strategies, is necessary to achieve student satisfaction. Objective: To evaluate learning strategies and satisfaction in relation to university services from the student perspective at the Higher Polytechnic School of Chimborazo. Methods: A basic, nonexperimental, descriptive and cross-sectional cohort research was developed, which included a universe of 409 students belonging to four university majors. The sample consisted of 199 students who expressed their desire to participate in the study. The study period covered between January and March 2022. Two research questionnaires were applied: the CEVEAPEU, to evaluate learning strategies, and another to identify the level of student satisfaction with university services. Results: All the learning scales and subscales were evaluated as being at a high level. Educational strategies, attributions and the conception of intelligence as modifiable were those indicated as being at a medium level in the four majors investigated. The students' satisfaction with all the university services showed to be at a high level and, in terms of importance, only the educational environment reached a medium level in two majors. Conclusions: Despite the high levels of evaluation obtained according to the learning scales and subscales, there is a differentiated behavior in the evaluation of learning strategies (virtual learning strategies) among the different majors investigated.
