Study of the administrative process of neighborhood stores in the city of Salinas-Santa Elena–Ecuador


Abstract:

This research work consisted of conducting a study on the current situation of businesses that generally go unnoticed without considering that they are the engine of family and community development in the areas where they are located, and these are the neighborhood stores. The research was carried out in the city of Salinas in the Province of Santa Elena-Ecuador. The study is based on the determination of the administrative process in this type of business whose information is not abundant in the country, recently by research projects of universities is beginning to develop this type of research, due to the lack of information on neighborhood stores in the country initially proceeded to study literature from other countries where the types of neighborhood stores and the way of working of this type of business were known, Based on these findings, we proceeded to use a qualitative research-action methodology to establish conclusions that would help in the construction of a future knowledge management model that would help in the process of improving neighborhood businesses. Fifteen businesses were chosen in representative sectors of Salinas, of which 10 were selected after going through filter questions. Thanks to them, three types of neighborhood businesses were identified (miscellaneous, groceries and convenience), and in the administrative area, 4 traditional processes or areas in administration were identified, which are Management, Finance, Inventory and Customer Service.
