Successful strategies for minority engineering students

Abstract:

The Arizona State University initiated the Minority Engineering Program (MEP) to develop an environment that will foster academic excellence for minority students within the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences through comprehensive program support for both recruitment and retention. MEP also provides a central place where students can find help in adjusting to the new demands of college life and the rigors of an engineering curriculum by offering on-going tutorial services, academic pre-advisement, scholarship and financial aid, and employment information.
