Sulfur Characterization and Distribution in Producing Areas of Heavy Oil Reservoirs under Steam Stimulation.

Abstract:

An experimental study was conducted to characterize the producing sands associated with the Cerro Negro, Melones, Pirital, and Bloque J-20 fields, in the Eastern Basin of Venezuela. The analyses were based on the sulfur distribution in the organic (oil) and inorganic (sand) phases and the sulfur removal associated to the thermal effect of distillation.
