Suppression of spurious tones in fiber system simulations based on the Split-Step Method
Abstract:
The use of fiber system simulations based on the uniform step-size distribution (USSD) is presented. USSD is derived from a logarithmic step-size distribution, and its originality is the quantitative control on the induced artifacts. In a Nc channels WDM system, the signal may propagate through a fiber span and generate tones. The exact efficiency η with the one resulting with the applied split system method is compared as the FWM efficiency altered by the algorithm is obtained.
