Surface Activation of Polyethylene by Low-pressure Cold Plasma to Improve the Adhesion of Printing Dyes
Abstract:
The next investigation concerns the activation by the low-pressure cod plasma on the substrate of low-density polyethylene. This improved adhesion arises for printing inks, with the primary factor increased surface free and roughness. The results were measured with the contact angle of the oxygen plasma treated, argon and a mixture of said substrate. The best results with argon plasma which generates a contact angle of approximately twenty degrees equivalent to a surface free energy approximately sixty five mN/m is higher surface free energy of the substrate found. Adhesion tests were also conducted on the treated with dyes and initial surface, which showed a clear improvement with result equal to the degree% B in ASTM D3359.
