Sustainable development and learning opportunity of biorefineries: A biomass alternative
Abstract:
In this century, petroleum derivatives are increasingly scarce and the environmental damage makes their use questionable, the scientific community faces technological and economic challenges and challenges regarding the exploitation of renewable resources as a productive platform of the countries. The objective of this research is to analyze the sustainable development of biorefineries, particularly biomass as a learning alternative. The methodology is descriptive in the field. The results show the existence of strategies to mitigate risk and face problems inherent to the sustainable development of biorefineries, there is an opportunity from agro-industrial resources and their ability to learn from technological innovation in addition to the use of all types of biomass such as raw material to produce a wide range of products such as fuels, platform chemicals, derivatives and usable energy. The proliferation of these types of facilities will favor the gradual transition from a petroeconomy (based on oil) to a bioeconomy (based on renewable resources of biological origin). It is concluded that sustainable development and learning opportunities are obtained from the knowledge generated from biorefineries, and biomass is part of that alternative of learning and knowledge produced.
