THE EXERCISE OF THE DIRECTIVE FUNCTION IN COMPLEX CONTEXTS: ITS PROFESSIONALIZATION

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to know the meanings and practices that educational actors give to school management in complex contexts, in three public schools in the city of Zaragoza (Spain) from the socio-critical paradigm. To do this, the ethnographic method was used and, as a design, a multiple case study. Using non-participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews, discussion groups and document analysis. From this study emerges the need to consider the immediate context, in which the director exercises the managerial function, since the complexity of it requires him to develop logics of service action to reduce social exclusion and / or specify social assistance, that some students must receive to optimize the development of their academic activities.
