THE IMPORTANCE OF THE VETERINARY HEALTH INSPECTION AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY


Abstract:

The aim of this review article is to provide an analysis of the importance of sanitary inspection by the Veterinary Doctor (VM) in contributing to epidemiological surveillance as a contribution to society, certifying that food (meat, milk, sausages, etc.) is fit for human consumption and ensuring the health of consumers in the area of public health. Over time, most veterinarians have dedicated themselves to different areas such as animal production, small animal clinics, food safety and zoonosis prevention, in order to solve problems that concern society, and there is no doubt about the importance of the role played by veterinarians in the development of our society, which has sometimes been ignored. A qualitative descriptive review methodology was used. The main results point to the preparation of the MV depends funda-mentally, on the one hand, on the quality of the knowledge imparted by the institutions throughout the academic training and, on the other hand, on the personal interest and motivation of the student and their training as professionals has evolved according to the social demand, thus, it is considered that the veterinarian influences the development of a community and their poor practice could have repercussions on the quality of health of a social group.
