THE INTEGRATION OF SUBSTANTIVE UNIVERSITY PROCESSES FROM SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AT UNIANDES
Abstract:
The integration of the substantive functions (education, research and linkage with society) is a necessity for the good performance of higher education institutions, since this contributes to the fulfillment of their social mission. The research is carried out with the objective of evaluating the knowledge and level of integration of the university substantive processes, with a focus on scientific research at UNIANDES. The research is predominantly qualitative and descriptive in scope, a survey was applied to a representative sample of 102 professors and 20 directors of the university under study, which shows that there is a lack of knowledge of the substantive functions of higher education, and greater importance is given to the training process, far above research and links with society, The integration between the three processes is not recognized by managers and teachers, there is no clarity in the functional organization chart of the institution, and the vast majority of those surveyed consider that it is very important to address the issue of university integration for the improvement of university processes.
