THE INVESTIGATION OF PERIODONTAL DISEASE IN SCHOOL ADOLESCENTS

Abstract:

The objective of the research conducted is to know the severity and presence of PD in school adolescents and to propose ways to improve this condition, related to the correct brushing periodontal disease (PD) is one of the most frequent factors in the oral cavity and the lack of motivation in the practice of oral hygiene in adolescents has been a reason to be frequent in them. A literature review of scientific research and case report(s) was performed. The search was conducted in the virtual libraries Google academic, Scielo and PubMed, delimiting the period of 2014-2021. As a result, it was obtained that there is a high prevalence of PD in relation to poor oral hygiene habits. The best way to prevent PD in school adolescents is to increase educational programs aimed at them to cure a low knowledge of this disease.
