THE LEARNING BASED IN PROBLEMS LIKE A WAY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPETENCES IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract:

Higher Education in Ecuador must continue the implementation of changes that are necessary in the teaching - learning process, which allow to innovate, modify and move from traditional and passive teaching methods and styles to more current and active ones where the student is the center of the process and with that the development of competences in the students. The present article analyzes theoretical references about didactic strategies and active methods of teaching; within them, Problem-Based Learning as a way to develop competence in the training of professionals. This work designs actions to be developed by the teachers to apply this methodology and the ones that must be done by the students to arrive at the resolution of the problems that are presented to them.
