THE POLLUTION OF THE TOACHI RIVER FROM ITS SOURCE, VIOLATION OF THE RIGHTS OF NATURE
Abstract:
The objective of this work was to establish the violation of the rights of nature due to contamination with pig farming waste in the Toachi River, affecting the right to health and dignified life of the people who occupy this water resource that originates in Salinas de Monte Nuevo in the province of Cotopaxi. The research design was mixed, qualitative-quantitative, descriptive in scope, using analytical and synthetic methods, inductive, deductive, documentary analysis and the method of experts, the selected techniques were the interview and the survey, concluding that to effectively defend the rights of nature, health and dignified life of present and future generations, it is necessary for the population to have a complaint form that could be downloaded from the website of the Council of the Judiciary, as well as a public policy co-created and co-executed by the affected populations.
