THE PRODUCTION BIODEGRADABLE PRODUCTS AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO REDUCE PLASTIC POLLUTION IN THE CANTON OF SAN LORENZO

Abstract:

Pollution is one of the biggest problems facing humanity and even more so when it comes to plastic, because they take too long to degrade, so identifying new alternatives to replace these plastic products and provide the same benefit is the res-ponsibility of citizens to conserve and regenerate the environment, and what better with the use of biodegradable products. In the present work, a qualitative-quantitative research was carried out with a descriptive and non-experimental scope, for which the inhabitants of the city of San Lorenzo were considered as the population. The results showed that there is a great acceptance on the part of the citizens to use biodegradable products instead of the traditional plastic utensils. This leads to the conclusion that the production and commercialization of biodegradable dishes would contribute to the reduction of plastic contamination in addition to generating social awareness in people.
