THE ROLE OF INDIGENOUS LAW EDUCATION IN THE TRAINING OF FUTURE LAWYERS


Abstract:

The teaching of indigenous Law constitutes a strategic reference for university youth in their socio-legal development framed in interculturality, giving lawyers sufficient tools to develop skills that provide solutions to the various problems for a multicultural country such as Ecuador. Furthermore, this teaching constitutes a necessary addition to their professional education for the creation and development of skills to solve conflicts related to Indigenous Law. In Ecuador, competence and jurisdiction are not clarified due to the lack of knowledge still existing, which is necessary to socialize the related laws. In the present work, inductive, deductive, analytical, and historical-logical research methods were applied, with theoretical foundations, surveys, direct observation and interviews. As a result, it was determined the need to socialize the legal and constitutional changes, in the students of the career of Law and the society.
