TITULACIÓN DE BIOQUÍMICO Y FARMACÉUTICO
Abstract:
From total extract of AcOEt (EXT1) of Piper peltatum L. it was isolated a flavone 5-Hydroxy-4', 7-dimethoxy-flavone and a mixture of sterols: β-sitosterol, stigmasta-5, 22-dien-3-ol and campesterol which were characterized by spectroscopic techniques, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Biological activity of AcOEt extracts it was evaluated against strains of bacteria and fungi using the broth microdilution method. The values of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the total extract were 125ug/ml AcOEt against Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus, while the extract without chlorophylls presented a MIC of 125ug/mL against Trichophyton mentagrophytes, 62.5 μg/mL for Trichophyton rubrum, 31.25 ug/mL for Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus, in contrast the extract with chlorophyll residue showed being inactive.
