Tamizaje del desarrollo psicomotor con el test TEPSI, a niños de 4 años, en escuelas de la Parroquia Sinincay. Cuenca 2018


Abstract:

BACKGROUND: The assessment of psychomotor development is of vital importance during early childhood, because it is a stage of maturation, neuronal plasticity and important acquisitions, the early detection of difficulties offers the possibility of timely intervention with appropriate therapeutic measures. The present investigation contemplates the degree of psychomotor development of the children through the evaluation with the TEPSI screening test, whose results allow to guide the work of the professionals in charge of the children of our study. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the psychomotor development of the 4-year-old boys and girls who attend the Sinincay Parish Schools, through the TEPSI test. METHODOLOGY: The study will be descriptive quantitative cross-sectional type. Children from 4 to 5 years of age are considered as population, attending schools belonging to the Sinincay parish: José María Astudillo Ortega, Carolina de Febres Cordero, Sinincay Educational Unit, La Merced, Ignacio Malo Tamariz and Reinaldo Chico García. The statistical analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics with percentages, frequencies and Chi square represented in tables using the SPSS software version 20. USE OF THE RESULT: The present study was carried out in children of 4 years in the Sinincay parish schools in which they were evaluated with the TEPSI test and the following results were obtained: 54.3% were male and 45.7% were male. Of the female gender, of the total of the children evaluated, 75.9% presented a normal psychomotor development, 17,2% presented a risk psychomotor development and while 6.9% presented a delay in the psychomotor development
