Technological resources in the learning process of university students in Ecuador

Abstract:

University students have found in the information technology resources a world of possibilities to develop learning and improve the context. The present investigation reflects on the use that students give to the technological resources of information, media and social platforms, and browsers, in addition to the associated factors that drive the development of technology. The questionnaire of Ferrés [1] and Ferrés and Pisticelli [2] was applied to 1,610 students from 20 universities, distributed in 11 of the 24 provinces of Ecuador. Through this questionnaire the dimension of technology was identified within the study of media competences. The results suggest that students have an average competence in the use and consumption of technology for social and educational purposes, at the same time, it remains to exploit the tools as a transforming model of the classrooms in learning communities.
