Temperature programmed desorption: experimental aspect
Abstract:
This paper presents a quantitative analysis of the effects of heating rate and pumping speed on the shape of the peak, measuring sensibility, and kinetic desorption parameters for a single peak thermal desorption process. The results presented here show that improper settings for the rate of heating (β) and the pumping time (τ) can lead to a bad kinetic model. We have discussed thoroughly the role that these variables play in desorption phenomena, and at the same time suggest a way of optimizing them in order to obtain a good representation of the discussed phenomena for a particular system. It has been demonstrated that a product of the heating rate and pumping time equal to 1 leads to the best quality thermal desorption spectrum. © 1995.
