Terapia asistida con perros : una lectura desde el psicoanálisis.

Abstract:

The present degree work tries to show that Dog-assisted therapy is a completely new journey in the clinic field. For this reason, this work proposes to find a way in which this therapy is related to the contributions of the psychoanalytic theory. In the short trajectory of the Dog—assisted therapy, it is possible to demonstrate that there hasn't been any author that could relate the Dog-assisted therapy with psychanalysis, a discipline which's conceptual background is proven to implement new theoretical bases for Dog-assisted therapy. Despite the Dog-assisted therapy´s journey in the clinic field is not too long, it has shown its effectiveness in cases that have something in common: the affinity and relationship that the subject has with the dog, which is going to be a fundamental point to understand how to make this therapy. The present investigation project has demonstrated that Dog-assisted therapy and the psychoanalytic theory share a common matter: they both work with the subjective discomfort of the patient and are always supporting what concerns subjectivity. Furthermore, this investigation has tried to relate both therapies with the purpose of enriching and re-elaborating the Dog-assisted therapy. This was achieved using different types of implements, like the fundamental theoretical historicity of psychoanalysis and Dog-assisted therapy, and giving some examples of the clinical cases in which the work with dogs was held. Subsequently, a reading of them was made together with the investigations from the psychoanalytic bases.
