The culture of peace and the role of the communicators in the resolution of conflicts. Agreement of peace between Ecuador and Peru


Abstract:

In this research the theoretical review of culture of peace, communication for peace, peace agreement and the role of journalist raises border, which will allow us to reformulate conceptually define its dimensions and establish barriers or limits, given the characteristics of the dominant media system, hinder its success today as a model of communication, key in building a culture of peace. Journalism and peace culture is a social change-oriented paradigm whose main objective is to provide information to media professionals of analytical tools and practices that allow them to deal with conflict in a constructive and responsible manner. It challenges the way to interpret the conflicts themselves, relations between media, NGOs and the society. Therefore this study focuses on an analysis of public perceptions on the border, after the peace agreements between Ecuador and Peru, in order to know what were the benefits it has brought the peace agreement.
