The economy of Manabí (Ecuador) between droughts and floods

Abstract:

To understand the problems that occur and derive as a result of global warming, climate change and the so-called greenhouse effect in the Ecuadorian economy, the Province of Manabí was considered because its long agricultural history is plagued by droughts and floods. Among the main effects of these phenomena is the accelerated migration from rural to urban areas, the generational abandonment of the agricultural sector and the overexploitation and deforestation of agricultural producers caused by the excessive use of chemicals that artificially compensate for the ravages produced by the climate.
