The human role in Human-centric Industry

Abstract:

Fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0 (I4.0), was suppose to be a transformative revolution that enables industries to move from being a technology and product-centred premise to become a human-centric one. However, the development of this perspective within I4.0 has not been yet fulfilled. In this regard, the idea of Industry 5.0 (I5.0) is focused on such a concept of human-centeredness and implies that technology, organizations, and individual working places must be adapted to human and societal needs. By breaking down relevant and recent literature in a systematic way, present article analysed three specific aspects related to human-centric manufacturing include understanding the role of humans, the required labour skills, and the various challenges that I5.0 has attempted while placing the human perspective as a fundamental industrial pillar. It also delivered a Roadmap for I5.0 skills exploitation and perform outreach activities which contribute to the backbone of I5.0, while having a discussion towards human-cantered, and technology-supported jobs.
