The impact of community and research tourism on ancestral sites in the Amazon of Ecuador. Case: Cave of Tayos de Coangos

Abstract:

The communal and investigative tourism has begun to grow on different Amazonian regions of Ecuador. At the present time The Ministery of Tourism is implementing a program of tourist strengthening of the ancestral places in the Amazonia and that's the reason why the community Coangos's Shuar is accomplishing a diffusion and tourist promotion in a magic place where a lot of foreign investigators have developed books and investigation that have managed to have abundant fortunes with enigmatic and very famous "Cave Of The Tayos", but native people shuar local of coangos, they have not received any compensations or gratitude for it. For this reason have gotten organized the community coangos's shuar and have formed an Association legally constituted where the Legal Representative is Jose Saant a leader shuar that has promoted the development and tourist advancement of the community …
