The influence of human capital resources on the export performance of manufacturing firms
Abstract:
Effectiveness in organizations depends - among other factors - on the quality of the human capital they hold. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze whether human capital related resources influence the export performance of manufacturing firms. For this purpose, an empirical analysis, using logit and tobit regression models to a sample of 832 Ecuadorian companies, is applied. The outcome shows that variables related to human capital - education, experience and training - have a positive and significant influence on the probability of companies accessing international markets, as well as the intensity of penetration in these markets.
