The influence of the classroom environment in the development of speaking skiils.
Abstract:
This research project aimed to propose a solution to the conflict situation of Ninth “B” EGB students of Camilo Destruge High School of the 2020-2021 school period, who evidenced a struggle with the development of the spoken English due to the classroom environment. The year 2020 presented a significant challenge worldwide with the pandemic for COVID19 virus. The educational system was forced to change from traditional classes to online sessions. This field study established the classroom environment as the independent variable and speaking skills as the dependent variable. A study of the historical background of the theoretical, legal foundations, and the research context was carried out. In addition to an interview with the teacher, a survey was applied to 28 students. The results obtained confirmed the need for a booklet to improve speaking skills and expressions which was created with strategies to motivate students to practice English speaking, to help them to improve not only their pronunciation, but also learn vocabulary, be fluent, and handle grammar rules. As a result of several strategies, students will speak confidently and fluently by themselves, improving their spoken English.
