The management of technological innovation to the appointment system of the IESS: Case study delay in the diagnosis and treatment of acute appendicitis in machala


Abstract:

The technological management for scheduling appointments in Ecuadorian social insurance and the problems that exist. Objective. Determine the use and perceptions towards information and communication technologies (ICT), in the delay in attention to social security users. Materials and methods. We evaluated 47 people who identified delays in diagnosis and performing surgery in patients diagnosed with acute appendicitis. Results We proceeded to the processing of data from the application of various statistical techniques to demonstrate its usefulness and future recommendations. Conclusion. They indicate that the prolonged waiting time increased the morbidity and mortality in the Ecuadorian social security patients.
