The media in the diaspora of returned ecuadorian women

Abstract:

Traditional media and the current media ecosystem continue to delineate the destinies and social roles of women in migratory conditions, identifying itself in a programmatic scenario of marked social inequality. With the aim of analyzing the phenomenon of female migration in the current circumstances of Ecuador, an investigation was conducted with 163 women through a mixed methodology of an exploratory nature. The results of the investigation determined the migratory aspects and reasons of departure and return of the Ecuadorians. Two central axes of the research study were concluded, such as: the public discourse of the media in front of the returned woman and her family and, the non-existence of women in the media approach.
