" Flujo de polen y eficiencia reproductiva de cinco clones en etapa productiva de cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) tipo nacional y dos trinitarios en la finca experimental La María
Abstract:
This research project was conducted at the Experimental Farm" La Represa" property of the State Technical University of Quevedo, located 7.5 kilometer track in San Carlos Quevedo, 2.5 km Faita entrance to the province of Los Rios, lasting six months from september 1 to march 1, 2016, the research entitled" FLOW OF POLLEN AND REPRODUCTIVE EFFICIENCY OF FIVE CLONES IN PRODUCTIVITY GROWTH STAGE OF COCOA (Theobroma cacao L.) NATIONAL TYPE AND TWO TRINITY IN THE EXPERIMENTAL FARM" La Represa" had as its main objective: to determine pollen flow and reproductive efficiency in five clones in productive stage of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.), National Type and two Trinidadians in the experimental farm" La Represa". Natural pollination tests were performed, and proceeded to make 15 flowers per tree, where a percentage of fertilization of 12, 18% was obtained. Hand pollination tests (cross), was conducted in 15 flowers per tree with a total of 10 repetitions per clone, where a percentage of fertilization of 47, 48% was obtained, the rate of reproductive efficiency obtained was 30%. According to the Kolmogorov and Levene data they did not follow a normal distribution, the nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis test (p≤ 0.05) was applied in the Statistic 7.0 statistical program, while the comparison between means was done in the SAS program and Statgraphics. Variable number of grains of pollen, pollen viability and stigmatic receptivity were also recorded.
