The use of QR codes: an alternative tool in educational technology


Abstract:

This research shows that ease of access, adaptability, low costs and short implementation time give the guidelines for the use of QR codes (Quick Response) as a tool that links the use of technology to the teaching-learning process. An experimental research is realized, which is developed out with university students. The tool included a manual with the topics dealt with in the matter, to one of the groups the manual delivered contained QR codes printed, which when scanned by a mobile device allowed the student to access a video tutorial prepared by the teacher who gave the material, another group access by typing a URL and the third group is not assigned manual. As a result, the group receiving the learning tool with QR codes obtained a better academic performance.
