The use of conference articles as learning objects: Implementation in TAEE and EDUCON conferences

Abstract:

The presented document introduces the work carried out in the management of digital information as learning objects. To introduce the full process done over the original documentation, some stages like recovery, manipulation, unification, labeling, and processing of digital files have been implemented. The developed process has been deployed for the management and organization of education and engineering conferences TAEE (Technologies Applied to Electronics Teaching) and EDUCON (IEEE Education Conference). The developed process has consisted of the creation of digital objects and documents and the use of those created in order to use them through educational scopes. Some work in relation to the labeling of those objects has been based on the generation of XML definition files attached to the digital objects. Once a set of data-metadata has been implemented, the spread of the collected and indexed information through? multiple environments is possible. Thus, these units of information let the implementation of web environments, the study and analysis of their contents and the creation of file structures for their upload in repositories in a massive way. As such, the institutional repository e-Spacio UNED from the Spanish University for Distance Education has been selected to hold contain the mentioned structure of files. © 2011 IEEE.
