Theoretical aspects of ultra wide band

Abstract:

Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology can provide alternative communication solutions within the unlicensed band. Despite many years of development and deployment, UWB and its applications have been underutilized within the communications industry. Some reasons for this lack of acceptance are industry preference for more established technologies and a lack of vendor support in terms of equipment and facilities. This paper attempts to show the advantageous aspects of UWB in the hope of informing telecommunications professionals of UWB's potential applications, expecting that engineers and analysts take interest and find out more once they know its fundamentals.
