Theoretical model of relationships between agribusiness management and the performance of the value chain of Concha Prieta "Anadara tuberculosa"
Abstract:
The Anadara tuberculosa species, called in the Republic of Ecuador as "Concha Prieta", is a bivalve mollusk that lives in the mesolithic zones associated with red mangrove roots that have a wide distribution on the Pacific Ocean coast. Its production chain is based on an empirical extraction model that presents low levels of competitiveness and cooperation. The purpose of this dissertation is to describe and analyze how the production chain of the brown shell can be transformed into a "Value Chain", through the conceptualization of a theoretical model of relationships between agribusiness management, as an independent variable, performance of the value chain as a dependent variable, as well as environmental management and innovation management, as mediating or energizing variables, of the process of changing the production chain to a value chain for the brown shell. The methodology used was documentary research. The result was an iconography on the theoretical model of relations between the aforementioned variables. It is concluded that the proposed theoretical model can serve as a basis for initiating a broader study on the process of transformation of the productive chain to the value chain of the brown shell.
