Therapeutic Activity of aloe vera in periodontal disease

Abstract:

Aloe vera for periodontal diseases is an alternative and complementary treatment. The objectives of the article were to esta-blish the efficacy of Aloe vera in periodontal diseases and to determine the knowledge of this therapy by dentists in Ecuador. This descriptive, non-experimental, and qualitative-quantitative study evaluated Aloe vera in periodontal diseases and iden-tified their knowledge of them through a survey of dentists from Ambato and Quito. Of those surveyed, 64% are aware of their therapeutic activities, 40% considered their association beneficial, 28% have used it and 96% would use it in addition to treat periodontal diseases. Aloe vera offers multiple benefits to periodontal therapy and extensive research on the subject is considered necessary due to current insufficient knowledge.
