Therapeutic effects with ozone therapy in conjunctivitis medical profile in dogs (Canis lupus familiaris) in the Ecuadorian Coast

Abstract:

The present investigation was conducted in domestic dogs (Canis lupus familiaris) diagnosed with conjunctivitis in the Ceibos Veterinary Clinic in the city of Guayaquil, with a duration of a period of 4 months where a total of 25 dogs were analyzed (females and males), regardless of race, sex or age, by random sampling with a level of significance of 0.05%. The samples were determined by inclusion and exclusion factors, four ozone therapy treatments were evaluated (ozonated oil, direct ozone ventilation, ozonized saline irrigation and a combined treatment) and a control or conventional treatment, observation of the behavior of characteristic signs of conjunctivitis as a degree of congestion of conjunctival vessels, the type of discharge, whether mucopurulent or catarrhal and manifestation of pain. Concluding that when evaluating the effect of the four treatments there are no significant differences with ozone therapy on conjunctivitis in dogs since the results with the application of this therapy against this pathology contribute positively in the solution of the problem in meteorological conditions of the Coast region of Ecuador.
