Tolerance to frustration in selected adolescent athletes, from the azuay sports federation, in the face of failing in competition during 2016-2017 years
Abstract:
This study aims to provide data on the frustration levels of the psychological needs on adolescent athletes of the Azuay Sports Office during the academic period 2016-2017. Therefore, the application of the scale" Spanish validation of the frustration scale of psychological needs (EFNP) on physical exercise"(Sicilia, Ferriz, y Sáenz, 2013) is proposed for obtaining and characterizing the sample frustration levels. The results determined the following data: 6.17% of athletes have a high level of frustration, 41.41% are in a normal range, 32.60% have a low level and just a 19.82% have very low. The study yields that the need for competition is the most affected of the sample, and among it the feelings like incapacity and incompetence are the most frustrating for adolescents. The need of relationship was positioned as the most satisfactory for the participants, because of their age, and they enjoy the participation in collective sports.
