Tourism demand appraisal in the Andean Community of Nations


Abstract:

This article introduces a review of literature and its use on the appraisal of tourist demand in the Andean Community of Nations. To this end, researchers use different methodologies - based on econometric models and others, putting in place - as well - time series; nonetheless, data needed was not met; therefore, specialized literature was consulted to study the phenomenon by using current data and information. The paper at hand, presents an approach based on Bass information dissemination model, consisting mainly of the expansion of information delivered by tourists who have visited a place, considering ways for them to recommend other people to visit such country and, consequently, generate better income for countries. The research concludes that such way of information dissemination needs to take place in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia.
