Toward smart and durable nanoceramic and nanobioceramic coatings and their medical and industrial applications
Abstract:
As the consumer raises expectations of their goods and products, industries are taking revolutionary steps in the development and protection of their products. The world industry has arrived in the nanotechnology era where nanoparticles are not only being used to create new products, but also to protect them. One promising category of nanocoatings, known as nanoceramics, has emerged and proved its efficiency in, for example, the automotive, aerospace, and biomedical industries. Engines, valves, gears, chassis, and implants are being coated with nanoceramics due to certain characteristics that nanoceramics possess. Especially in the biomedical industry, a special class of nanoceramics, known as bioceramics, have made aspiring steps in making the lives of patients with various degrees of bone discrepancies better. By the looks of it, nanoceramic coatings may be one of the revolutionary designs that science, engineering, and technology needs.
