Traffic analysis of internet applications on mobile devices over LTE and wireless networks

Abstract:

[...] numerical parameters for a probability density function distribution are presented in order to estimate and simulate such traffic.[...] in Figure 7, we can observe that exist a trimodal traffic distribution for Email App over LTE network, with 37% of packets (small) around 30 bytes, 4% around 570 bytes (medium), and 34% for big packets around 1490 bytes.[...] the model is the result of the sum of two Poisson distributions as in (1):...[...] we propose a hypothesis test to compare the average of the packets in the LTE network versus the Wi-Fi network.
